The IEEE Sensors Council focuses on the theory, design, fabrication, manufacturing, and application of devices for sensing and transducing physical, chemical, and biological phenomena, with an emphasis on the electronics, physics, and reliability aspects of sensors and integrated sensor-actuators. IEEE Sensors Council serves the sensor community with its well-recognized publications, conferences, and technical committees.
Nutromics
Mr. Batchelor has more than 25 years of commercial bioassay and biosensor R&D experience, spanning discovery through launch to market. Currently a Distinguished Scientist at Nutromics in Melbourne, Australia, Rob is part of the team there developing wearable continuous real-time electrochemical biosensors for clinically important molecules in the body. Previously he led multidisciplinary R&D teams at Nutromics, Eccrine Systems, and Base Pair Biotechnologies, and also co-founded and was the Chief Science Officer at a biotech startup. He developed a range of commercial assay products as a lab scientist at Marker Gene Technologies and Molecular Probes, now part of ThermoFisher. Career achievements include 6 first-author publications, 11 issued U.S. patents, and 50+ products to market in the life sciences space, generating more than $100M USD in aggregate sales.
